SB-303 puzzle

Gang,

A friend of mine recently aquired an SB-303 with a curious mod.

The unit has an extra pc board with a Heath part number -- 85-1412-3.

Seems to be an option of some kind. It has an on/off switch and mounts
above the crystal filters next to the LMO.  Doesn't seem to do anything
obvious.

Any ideas?
