VFO for the HW-18-3 160M Monobander?

I'll have to do some looking tonight but it seems that I
remember an external VFO from an old Handbook which would
plug into a crystal socket. Actually think it was only the
L/C part with an dial but I'll take a look. It also seems
that it should be possible to drive a vfo thru the crystal
port with a little care on drive level.
