Even better the soap is fabric softener.

A glass of distilled water { this will not leave a hard water deposit on the plastic }
and
A Few Drops < Not Vary Much...  Just a Few Drops > of fabric softener { This is what most
antistatic sprays are made of... As used in the computer world }

A soft rag of better yet Cheese Cloth.

# 1  Clean around the outside of the meter first.
# 2  Then from Bottom to Top { Go one direction only }
# 3  Then from Top to Bottom { Go one direction only }

Now

# 4  Right to Left side { Go only one direction }
# 5  Left to Right { Go only one direction }

Note:
If you go Back and Forth even with the fabric softener you cause yourself more problems.
Wiping one direction the the other direction cancels out the field.


Put some in a spray bottle and save yourself lots of $$$$
If you live in a area with lot's of static.
