Seasons Greetings and News from Tempe

Greetings!

As some of you know, Tempe turned over the Collins list we were hosting to
the Collins Collectors Association.  The situation demanded that that list
be moved from a pubilcly owned server to a private one.  They went out and
found a new home and things moved over just fine.  We wish them well with
their organization and the new list.  And, being a Collins owner I'll be
lurking over there myself.

This has brought some questions about the future of the Heath and BA lists
we host at Tempe.   At this time we see no reason to have these lists move.
They still fullfill the two original reasons that we created them.  First,
of course, is the exchange of information between you, the subscribers.
Second, it's a great indicator for us at Tempe that the server is running
smoothly.  We have a couple dozen lists that are related to other topics but
they do not get daily use and we might not notice if the server stopped
processing the lists.  So, your helping us operationally when you are
posting.

Just a reminder, there are searchable archives of all postings to any Tempe
list available at www.tempe.gov/archives and an easy sunscribe/unsubscribe

So, enjoy the lists.  I have to say that the BA and Heath lists must have
the most curtious group of hams in our hobby.  There are few, if any, lists
that are un-moderated that are as easy to manage.  The respect you display
for eachother is heartwarming.  You folks are great.  Thanks!!

And, from Tempe, please enjoy a very safe and warm holiday season with your
friends and family.  Good friends are harder to find than the rarest of
radios....take some time with them.
