Frequency!!

While I enjoyed watching the film, strictly for its entertainment value, I
couldn't understand for the life of me why the technical co-ordinator
responsible for the radio didn't simply acquire an old SB-100/101 from that
same era---in other words, a TRUE transceiver, rather than that cobbled-up
thing that appeared in the picture...

It would have been closer (obviously) to reality, & would probably would
have saved the studio some money, too (i.e. no need to retrofit the thing,
the way they did the receiver). I suspect that same technical co-ordinator
may well have been a "newbie" to Ham Radio, & knew little of BA rigs.

Hollywood...go figure!
