"Unbuilt" Heathkit

Now that's a novel idea, unbuild a built Heathkit and multiply the eBay
value by a factor of 5-20 times; wow, fun and easy money. SO, I took a
built, now that's original built, not built-unbuilt-rebuilt and attemped to
remove all of the components. It wasn't easy and I quickly cursed myself for
following the assembly manual instructions about forming and crimping the
component leads to the terminal strips and tube sockets, I should have just
liquid soldered them in place, Well, after a few hours I managed to burn all
of my fingers and break most of the tube sockets and terminal strips. This
method was obviously to slow, hummmm, maybe a little more heat, so out comes
the torch, well, that didn't work very nicely or neatly and now all that
smoke. But, at least most of the removed parts can be chucked and not
checked before the re-build process starts. When I sell it I'll just sweep
the shack floor and dump in a random pile of small parts, what the hell. I
finished the parts removal job with the pointy end of a claw hammer, which
pretty much guaranteed that this Heathkit won't be listed on eBay any time
soon. Now where did I put that Collins rig, 73's and Happy New Year, Ken
