Eico

'Bout a year ago a friend of mine sold me an unbuilt 753 that he got at a
fleamarket.
I already knew the rig's reputation, so I built it carefully. It took all
summer because I checked every part, and cleaned every solder lug before
soldering. I did not use any of the resistors, but ordered all new 1% metal
film jobs from Mouser.
The rig works great!! It drifts a bit more than an old Heath, or Swan etc.
but less than an old Hammarlund-type slide rule dial rig.
After about 15 minutes, it is solid as a rock. Good output, good xmit audio.
The receive AGC (not sure there is one) blasts a bit on strong signals, but
it was an 'entry' rig!!
EVERYONE is surprised when I say "rig here is Eico 753"
A lot of fun!!
