Don,

Can't speak directly to the probe but have encountered same problem with
other slide type switches used by Heath.  My latest encounter was with the
HM-102.  Same symptoms u describe.  Took the switch apart and found ancient
lubrication had hardened and was coating the contacts.  Cleaned all that
stuff out and took the contacts back to shiny clean condition.  Lightly lubed
with "modern" lubricant-----reassembled-----and it worked FB.

Your mileage could vary.........
