One more dial cord and feet solution.

Dial cord..  I've used dental floss for years. It is strong, waxed and doesn't stretch. Comes in various thicknesses, great for "lacing" cables for those who remember what that is. Get the mint, makes your radio smell nice!

Feet.. try a wine/ beer kit supply store. They have them in many sizes to fit various carboys, and the white ones can be painted. The hole is already supplied!
