I don't mean to be a smart-alec, or sarcastic in any way, but if you check
most any of the older ARRL HANDBOOKS in the receiver chapter---sub-headed
by "...How to Improve Selectivity" (or words to that effect)---you'll find
all that you're seeking there, in the holy grail itself...
If your receiver IF is too much removed from 455-KHz, forget it...but,
again, the article shall explain...!
