Unusual SB-650 found?

Doug,
I have two SB 650s and have considered replacing the Nixie tubes with
LEDs since some of my Nixies have gone bad. Did you get a schematic of
how the guy did it? If you did, could you share it with the group?
Does anyone have a source for Nixie tubes? Are they still made?
Also, on both of my SB 650s the last digit flips back and forth. They
are never stable. This tends to be anoying. I would like to find a way
to stabilize the digits. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
Question: Why didn't Heathkit make an SB 403, a solid state
transmitter (or maybe a hybrid with tube finals) to match the SB 303?
It would have been the perfect compliment to the 303. Do you supposed
they ever prototyped it but then decided to build the SB 104? It is fun
to dream!
Tnx, Don WB6INP/4
