Boy!!!  Brings back memories of my Novice days

I used to use toothpaste..as a water slurry on a glass plate, but that was
in the days when it contained Diatomaceous Earth.
To lower the frequency, I would rub the crystal surface with non-rosin
solder or ordinary "lead" pencil.

Hey...it worked!!!
