Heathkit on Alcatraz

   A couple days ago I went to Alcatraz and took the cellblock tour. Just
before the entrance to the cellblock, there's a closed room with a large
window overlooking what was the visitor area. Behind the window, along with
what I think was the old telephone exchange equipment for the prison, is
what appears to be a Heathkit Apache with a hand mic. Oddly there was no
receiver. I'm curious if the Apache might have once belonged to one of the
prison gaurds, or if members of the current park staff are hams. Anyone have
any insight into this?
