Gang: a comment and another question.
Thanks for all the input on the cables for the
300/400. It sounds like it was evenly divided as far as experiences
with rg-62 and 58/59. Lots said they had no problems with the 58/59,
some said they used some 58/59 for some of the connections and 62
for some of the others. Others said they couldnt get it to work
right unless they used just 62. Others said they used radio shack
video cables without any problems. Guess I'll do it the old fashioned
ham way and try something.. if it doesnt work, try something else.
Now the question: I recently heard of a dx 100 for sale and it
had been modified for push to talk, but you couldnt
tell because there was no visible modification. Was there a QST/73/CQ
article in the past that detailed this modification, or was it likely
something the seller did himself. I have no way of contacting the
seller to find out, so I thought I'd check here.
i do have a 73 article from past years that details how to
turn a TWOer and Sixer into PTT, but never saw one on the dx 100.
Basically the article has you use a umpteen-pole double throw relay.
I have a dx 100 and was just curious.
