VF-1 Instability Problem and Schematic needed.

I am sure this topic has been discussed before as probably
most Heath VF-1 VFO's suffer from this malady sooner or
later ( I had one in 1960 that did).
  My latest project uses one with a HB rig and it has the usual
jumping and warbling. Mine seems to exhibit the problem on
both 160 and 40 meter fundamental ranges. I have cleaned the
var cap, tightened all hdw, etc. I suspect the problem may be
with the temp comp caps and I have no suitable replacements.
  Any ideas out there??   ALSO - I could use a schematic of the
VF-1 if anybody could scan one or make a copy.
