PARTING OUT

Okay gang:
It is with a heavy heart and some angst that I make the following
announcement.
I have an SB-102 that I am going to part out. I already have
a request for the dial mechanism ... and MAY have a taker for the
final cage assembly if it fits an SB-104. I'm waiting to see if the
person wants it and if it will fit. If not, its up for grabs (although
I could turn the final variables and tank coil into a great antenna
tuner ..hmmmmmmm) The other stuff is up for sale or trade.
While I would really like to keep the cabinet because I may use
it for a linear I want to build, if an offer tickles my fancy I'd
probably let it go. Some board subassemblies may or may not have
the tubes. I'll let you know if you inquire.
Basically, its in the category of having to go to make room
for other projects higher on the priority list and room needed in the
shack so it doesnt look like a surplus emporium. I DO operate on the
air in there, but some people laughingly wonder how, including the wife
and kids.
The unit could probably be salvaged and made operable by someone
with patience, energy and desire ... I have those, but dont have the one
other requirment.. TIME (so probably there goes the antenna tuner idea
too.) All the belts are broken or missing and I know of a number of
bad or broken solder joints. Cosmetically .. probably a 7.. or 7 and
nine tenths.
I know youre probably asking the price question. No idea what
components are worth. In the past parting out a Heath has been to
abhorrent to think about (smile). I'll work with you on an individual
basis depending on what you think ... are offering .. or have to trade.
Making this announcement here first... if no interest, it will
likely end up at the "other place" to highest bidder, but first wanted
to give the true Heath lovers a chance to get what they need for their
repairs and/or projects.
Afterwards, I will announce the time and place for the memorial
service... (just kidding)
