I just posted a message with at least three topics; maybe it qualified as a
rant.

Well, it exceeded 150 lines and thus was "bounced" by the listserver.

I thought about whether to cut and paste it into 3 separate messages and I
decided I didn't need to send any of it. Kind of like writing a nasty-gram
and then feeling better and throwing it in the trash. (I saved one from a
company I worked for; we had our own satellite communications-based email
network...I sent out what would be called a flame in today's vernacular to
everyone in the company recommending something be done to solve a problem of
ineptitude...I di send it, and man did it cause alot of chaos; they had a
huge meeting at our plant 3 days later...people were shaking my hand telling
me they didn't know if I was a hero or a martyr. I ended up just fine...I
was told "you did the right thing the wrong way there we told you 'nuff
said".

So, I try to think about what I post....is it on topic, does it benefit the
group, would I say it to my mother?

Good food for thought.

Heath problem:

I bought several thousand Heath power transformers a few (?) years ago
(almost completely randomly boxes and stacked), making inventory a nighmare.
I had the noble idea of 'saving' them from the landfill, which is what
happened to alot of the other Heath parts.

Most of the 'primo' ham stuff had been picked thru already, and there is a
problem with some of them in that the products they go into are not worth
very much...sometimes I can change my pricing formula (based on what I paid)
to accommodate a situation where the end use has little value, but shipping
them raises it's ugly head.

They're heavy, and some folks live far away (!)

I am doing my best to move as much as I can to our new house and sort later.
I had to dumpster some just to have an realtor's open house on short notice.
I tried to only pitch used or cosmetically bad stuff.

I hate to pitch things, and try to err on the side of thinking certain
things are useful to someone somewhere (but stuff like iron core low freq.
Royer inverter transformers I can't even identify what product they came
from I don't see anyone using much).

It's not worth my trouble to pack and ship a 15# transformer for an
oscilloscope a guy paid $5 for at a hamfest and thus only wants to pay $2
but not for shipping.

Nor is it worth my trouble to pack stuff for guys who are willing to "adopt"
them and pay the shipping (this before they hear the shipping
price...they're noble too to a point).

Other than me finishing inventory and publishing a list, any other ideas?

Thanks for reading.
