Some of you may have seen this story before...

I worked on an HK-232 that someone had meticulously installed all axial components on the

bottom of the board...He figured out he couldn't do the IC's upside down. Kirby told me
to just check it out and then decide whether to build one from scratch.

Turned out the only thing wrong was that notorious batch of 1N4448 diodes
(yel-yel-yel-gray?) that fooled people into thinking the gray was the cathode. Then the
guys who were smart enough to test the diodes with an ohmeter got burned if they had a
Radio Shack ohmeter...notorious for having reversed polarity on ohms scales!

I left all the anti-gravity components where they were. I can't remember if I buckled in
and also put the diodes on teh bottom when I reversed them. Worked fine after that.

Oh, and the projection TV that never got completed, was left in the barn for years, and
finally shipped back to Heath. Cherry, a middle-aged woman who worked on alot of the TV's
opened the case and a mouse jumped out at her...an analog mouse!
