SB-303 problem?

Hi,
I just got a real nice SB-303 which works great except for one problem.
when I tune above about  "350" on the dial up to about "485" all I get is a
S-9  noise, no signals.  RF gain affects it, but no other controls will
affect it.  The rest of the tuning range works super and all other functions
of the radio work. I'm assuming it might be the LMO, but I wonder if anyone
has run across this?  Thanks in advance for any info...
