Heathkit Serial Numbers

Jim,

It depends on the model and year.  Heath never used "serial" numbers,
only "SERIES" numbers.  Some years the series number could be used to
identify the year and week a product was packed; other years they were
simply a reference number for the production department.  There are, or
more likely WERE, references for most of these numbers around Heath at
one time.  My guess is that they were tossed when Heath gave up kit
production and moved to smaller quarters.  If you have a particular
model/series number, I might be able to give you a date.
