SB 200 ALC

Hi Gang:
  I lhave a Kenwood 570 D connected to my  SB 200 and it works fine but would
like to hook up the ALC circuit circuit.  I was'nt sure about the voltage so
I called Kenwood and they said that it was perfectly compatable as it is.  I
had read somewhere that an 8 volt zener needed to be installed in the SB 200
for proper operation.  Any thoughts on this will be allppreciate.
