Power Transformer for Kenwood T599[via LSMTP - see www.lsoft.com]

Greetings Heavylifters:
        I mentioned this before and there were no takers. However, things
change, new stock comes in and out of the shack, people go to new
swapmeets.
        So once again, I am hoping you good folks of the boatanchor, heath,
swan, hallicrafters lists might have the item or the knowhow.
        I have this great set of Kenwood Twins R599/T599, but the transformer
in the TX went south. At first Kenwood listed the part, but then when
ordered said “out of stock.“ I have had no luck in finding a parts rig.
The rewinders say they can’t rewind because the laminations are welded.
        Anyone got any thoughts on rewinding possibilities, parts rig, spare
parts. If a foreign xfmr would fit inside, that would be fine with me. I
hesitate to rig an external one.
        Any thoughts about how to do an inside job?
