My two cents worth!

Keith is correct!

The heathkit SBA-104-1 Noise Blanker was designed to help eliminate
short noise spikes of around 50 microseconds duration (Automobile
ignition system noises!).
The noises generated by power lines, atmospheric conditions, and
thunderstorms are too long in length for the SBA-104-1 to handle.
In short, the SBA-104-1 noise blanker was designed to, and does, work
well when the transceiver is being used mobile. Only on extremely rare
occasions will it be effective when used in a permanent base
installation.
I own an SB-104, and two SB-104a. All have the SBA-104-1 Noise Blanker
installed, and they are all practically useless here in the shack.
If you have an SB-104/104A and want to add the noise blanker for
"correctness" sake--FINE! If you want to add an effective noise blanker
to a 303, look elsewhere.
Hope this helps.
