Define Factory Wired

Can any of our "Former Hams at Heath" define for me what does "Factory
Wired" mean?? Does this mean a standard kit was removed from the shelf and
given to a technician to built or was an outside technician hired to built
it, or indeed (I can't see this happening) was there some kind of
manufacturing set up invoked to build stuff?? Also, could you have any kit
factory built or was there just certain items available?

The previous owner of my latest purchase "Thinks it was factory built
(SB-310 Rcvr)". An honest fellow by all means, but this "thought" is
rather suspect..However, the wiring is very very good and the included
assembly manual is MINT and has NO CHECK MARKS beside the steps. Its the
proper original manual but there is ZERO evidence of it being used to built
the kit. You know, check marks, thumb prints, hand written notes, burn
marks from the soldering iron, etc. etc....Nothing!

Would love to know....Thanks Folks!
