HP-10 Help wnated...

Hi, gang,

Just got a fairly nice HP-10 p/s and it yearns to be recapped and
re-diode'd. No problem. Except for a couple of basic things:

First, I need a manual or copy thereof. W7FG has only a schematic
available and I'd like more detail than that.

Next, does anyone know the p/n of the two pass transistors? One has
a Motorola "batwing" logo and a number SP838-1 which doesn't cross
to anything I can find in ECG or Newark. Sadly, the Heath number is
mostly rubbed off. It may be 417-something, but I can't be sure. The
pass transistors on my HP-13B are 417-120 which cross to ECG179 and
that has been recently discontinued!. I wonder if these are the same
pass transistors? ECG does say that the 179 is a TO-3 case
germanium PNP audio freq. power amp.

Anyone give me a hand with this? Before I power it up to check
voltages, I sure would like to have a manual handy.

73,
