Question about SB-104A

Hi All,
A couple of weeks ago I listed a bunch of items for sale, and along with
that listing I mentioned that I had two SB-104A's that I plan on selling
soon, one working and one as a project rig. Well my working SB-104A for some
reason or another gave me a little smoke for which I quickly removed the
power cord from it's supply. I gave her a thorough check over I noticed that
capacitor C6 was the culprit. It's connected between Q2 and the Phone plug
jack. I don't have the schematic for this radio, and I just have the
Operation manual and Illustration booklet. Could somebody please give me
their opinion on what would cause this to happen or at least send me in the
right direction? FYI: I never lost recieve. It was tuned to a fairly strong
station and started to smoke during recieve and not transmit.. It's been a
good performer up to this point and didn't notice a drop in performance to
give me any indication that something was going to fail.
Thanks in advance for the information!

73' Jeff
