the vfo in the remote is the same critter as in the 104a. only difference is
the interface board inside the external vfo
to get the display from the 104a into the 644 would be a major project. you
need the counter (A) board. it counts, adds and does other magic to the
various signals flowing inside the 104a. this counter board does most of the
magic required for the display board.
I suppose if one really knew what one was doing, you could design an
internal counter with all the required presets so the display would be
correct when reading only the remote vfo signal. WOuld be a project not for
the faint hearted!
