AA-1640 Amplifier

Hi, I guess this is a bit off the track for most of you, since it's hi-fi
audio, not ham, but when you're desperate, you'll try anything.... :-)

I have an AA-1640 power amplifier (wonderful unit) which after many years of
fine service suffered some sort of failure one night, and had one of the two
output amplifier circuit boards catch fire, burning a hole in the board, and
destroying traces and board substrate over an area about 1"x3" in the center
of the circuit board.

The destruction is substantial enough that the usual response (jumpering the
trashed traces) isn't really in the cards. (No structural integrity left in
the board in an area with many small components; I'd probably wind up
mounting most of it on a new small bread-board card, and jumpering that into
the existing circuitry.)

So, does anyone out there either:

- i) have an AA-1640 which has suffered a similar (or other) fate, and is
willing to sell the remains, so I can scavenge one working output amplifier
board; or

- ii) is anyone out there interested in a project to produce a small run of
replacement output amplifier circuit boards (starting from the depiction in
the manual; it's a single-sided board, should be relatively feasible). (I'm
assuming that there's not a stock of spare boards still sitting around on
some unknown shelf - none of the usual sources listed online had any.)
