Ironically, you probably can't start a Heathkit-like company making
electronics -- but you probably COULD start one up making kit aircraft.

Kit airplanes are a booming industry -- for exactly the same reasons that
Heathkits were such a great value in the 40's and 50's. You can get a lot
more airplane for the money if you are willing to assemble a bunch of
parts. In some cases, it's the difference between owning an airplane and
not flying at all.
