HM-9 L1 pickup coil.....

Russ:

There are several component differences in addition to the pickup coil.

Find the resistor near the point where the red and gray wires connect to the
circuit board. If the resistor is 45.3k (yel-grn-org-red), its wired for
1.8-30 MHz. If the resistor is 27.4k (red-viol-yel-red), its wired for 50-54
MHz. If the resistor is 30.9k (org-blk-wht-red), it is wired for 144-148
MHz.

There are many other differences in resistor and capacitor values, but I
have only listed one of them above to answer the question.
