Hello, Rob,
Won't work. Here's why:
The 6HS6 tube and the 6HS8 tube are completely different animals.
The 6HS6 is a 7 pin sharp cutoff pentode, used as an IF amplifier,
and the 6HS8 is a 9 pin sharp cutoff TWIN pentode, used as in AGC
amplifiers, sync and noise-limiting circuits of TV receivers. One
pentode unit is used a combined sync separator and sync clipper;
second pentode unit is used as AGC amplifier.
This poop comes from my 1964 RCA receiving tube manual # RC-23.
