Very recently a sealed unbuilt Archerkit AM radio kit went for $138.00.
This kit contains nothing more than two transistors(oscillator/mixer and
IF amp), one diode(detector), and IC(amp).

Yet, very recently a like new Realistic DX-160 receiver went for only
$81.00. This receiver contains many transistors and semiconductors. It
has a beautiful aluminum front and metal case. It does so much more than
the Archerkit, and yet in the eyes of the buyer the Archerkit was worth
so much more relatively.

Some people buy with logic.....and some people buy with emotion. It has
always been that way, and will always be that way. No one way is right
or wrong. If you have money to burn, or you are dying for something,
then buy with emotion. If you have little money to spend or don't really
need something too badly, then buy with logic.
