Receiver Values Including Unbuilt

I found two web sites which help in determining current market value of
receivers - Heathkit and others.

Asking prices of all receivers at hamfests, net, etc are listed at :

http://www.home.cfl.rr.com/happysurfer/ham/boneyard.htm

Actual prices on ebay(statistical analysis) of receivers can be found at
:

http://www.aade.com/hampedia/prices2.htm

So for example, a used HW-104 went for $105.00, BUT, an UNBUILT HW-104
went for $1,525(more than TEN times the amount). So, by building the
HW-104, in this particular example, the buyer of the unbuilt is losing
$1,500 cash. Another way to look at, is that it is costing him $1,500.00
for the pleasure of building the kit. Is it worth doing so? That is a
personal decision. No right or wrong answer.

I hope that these sites help everyone in determining values of
receivers. It has certainly helped me. They are great sites. Bookmark
'em.
