Jack and all,
The EK-1 is one of the first Heathkit Educational kits (EK). It
consisted of a simple (!) VOM with switching for the resistance and
voltage ranges and a 1mA meter as I recall. In a nice "Heathkit" gray
box similar to the lunchbox style. It was followed by the EK-2A and
EK-2B, which were kits that built first a simple AM receiver (using
TUBES, whatever they are) and then a mod kit to expand the bands and add
some other features (BFO, etc.).
