Soldering - is it carcinogenic?

For what it's worth -

Not only have I not made a conscious effort to wash my hands after
soldering, I've frequently used my mouth as a third hand to hold the solder
when I needed both hands free. I've been doing that for over 50 years with
no apparent health problems resulting. Am I just lucky?
