The time My line voltage hit 126 was durring a storm and
a big erea went down taking the load off the power plant
and caused a higher voltage for a wile.
Thats what they told me,
Here in westen New York erea ,I have lots of power problems all year long,
Lots of storms last summer caused lots of power outages
and LOTS of stuff burned out from spiks!!!
Mostly VCR's and micro waves.
I took some hits here but I have surge protectors all threw the house.I did have a few burned out.
Now I get 121.3Vac true RMS voltage now.Fluke 87 meter.
1 nice thing with tube stuff ,is it can take surges better!!
My heath kit SB 200 at the time survived a major surge where the supply to my ICOM burned out.
Check you line voltage and use surge protectors!!
