Heath "Vultmeter" DC probe

Hi everyone on the list,

Dumb question # 3529:

I acquired a Heath "Vultmeter" recently.  The common and AC inputs are via
banana plugs (and probes for these came with the meter).  The DC input,
however, is a 1/4" phone jack and I didn't get a probe for that (or a
manual).  Do I simply wire a probe to phone plug, or is something of a
heavier-duty nature required?
