I always wondered "WHY" people collect these boxes full of parts.
To me it serves no purpose whatever. The only value to these people is
the "rarity" of a sealed box containing the parts. It has NO OTHER value
to them. I would like to obtain such a box of parts ONLY to do one
thing: BUILD THE KIT! But, I'm afraid I'm not willing or able to pay the
prices commanded by some of the "unbuilt kits" I've heard of sold for
ridiculous prices.
These "collectors" would do better from an investment standpoint
by collecting gold coins or rare stamps. AND would take up less storage
space, and could be actually seen by the collector and his friends. What's
the excitement in viewing a sealed cardboard box full of parts?
Just my 2 cents worth.
