Tube selection question

Also nothing wrong with Amperex, Tung-Sol, Raytheon or Westinghouse.
There was a lot of cross-building among the major manufacturers, so
that a tube branded Sylvania could well have been built by RCA, etc.
Many tubes branded Zenith were built by Sylvania. And of course the
JAN labeled tubes were built by MANY different suppliers. Best rule
to follow is to avoid anything built less than 25 years ago!! :-) I
avoid "new" names like Pro-Comp, International, Radio Shack or
anything that says "Made in China" on it. Some of the Russian built
tubes like Svetlana power tubes have built good reputations, but I
don't know anything about the quality of the more recent Receiving
type tubes being built for the Audio demand.
