I'd echo Murray's remarks, without even putting in 44 hours!  I'd check
that every stage was on frequency.  Then I'd check that the output
filter have not changed value over the years.  This also applies to new
home brew rigs, almost all use LPF's these days and if your filter cuts
off too soon you will have low power!
