DX-100 / VF-1 dial

Since I am going to have to replace the VFO dials on a
couple of DX-100 series transmitters (cracked, burned,
etc.) I have been working on a "better" replacement
than the original thin plastic dial scale.

What I have "come up with" is a thicker round plastic
dial with the calibration printed thereon.  The new
circular dial is 0.5 inches larger in diameter than
the original.  In the DX-100, DX-100B, and the VF-1
there is no problem at all with the larger diameter.
This is mounted directly to the round metal plate that
attaches to the VFO variable capacitor.  In front of
this is a new metal plate that the vernier assembly
fits into (originally it fit on the inside of the
plastic).  The new calibration is about the same
distance as before.

The thicker plastic should not warp and should be less
likely to crack. The metal in the vernier movement
should not warp or break.

Also, I am in the process of reproducing the green
plastic with the calibration line that goes behind the
VFO dial.

I'm "testing the waters" to see how much interest
there is in having these parts available.  The dial
won't be "that cheap", but it won't cost an "arm and a
leg".  The green plastic shouldn't be that bad.  The
cost doesn't come from the materials, it is the labor
to make them.
