Hi Gang...
Another trick to prevent tubes from coming loose & then "...rockin' &
rollin'" is to leave them in their sockets, but stuff lotsa crumpled
newspaper atop them---enough so that you can just close the lid.
I've done this successfully with a Hallicrafters SX-99, and a Heath
SB-301---I did NOT do it to an HW-12, and things did, indeed, get broken...
Caveat to the buyer: remember to REMOVE the paper before firing-up the rig,
or it will REALLY be one "hot" outfit! Hi Hi
