Removing smoke smell?

Well, I don't recommend you do what I did to my HW100, but it worked. I took off all
paper caps, the audio output transformer,all tubes, the vfo, etc, and dumped it into our
kitchen dishwasher. About 1/2 the amount of gel soap and ran it through only one wash
and one rinse. It did the trick. I let it sit a couple of weeks in a warm place and
then put it all back together. Not a problem. Also did this with my BC348 military
receiver. It was brown through and through with cigarette smoke. Took offthe big IF
cans (platic bagged over the small IF's, took offthe AF output xformer and dunked the
bugger. Did thetrick.
Don't call me if you do this and it doesn't work, but I'll do it again to other rigs.
