Upping one's own bidding.

I recently got outbid in the last 15 seconds for something I wanted badly.
What a disappointment. Now I hear there's a free service called snipe.com
that will do that.
In my case, I was fortunate in that the seller, who was in London, contacted
me to tell me that his coworker had the same item - also nearly new - that
he was willing to sell me for $300 less, without bothering with eBay. It
came today, and is just like new.
I'd still like to hear your strategy though, Murray.
Terry
