Heathkits from hell

I bought a HL2200 from an old ham who was a tv repairman. He had no business
building kits. I plugged it in and a light came on but nothing else. I
opened it up and found 5 major wiring errors. He also ran a separate 115
volt line for an extra relay. He installed 2 extra input coils. When I got
those problems fixed, I turned it on and found that the original t/r relay
was wired wrong so that the power output dropped when I went to load it up.
After a few seconds of turning it on, a 2W .86 ohm resistor blew. I found a
broken coax on the load side of the relay that was open. There may be a few
more bugs in it, as I haven't had time nor the desire to take it apart
again. Maybe this summer. Maybe the 5th time will be the magic number.
