VP-1-6 info needed

Gang,

Here is a rare one.  I need some info on the VP-1-6 mobile power supply.
This was used to operted the CB-1, et al, from 6 or 12 volt DC. Question:
Did it use a tube? Or was it solid-state?

Can you tell I am busy writing : )
