Gang,
Many thanks to Glen, Mike, Mike, Ed, Bob, Sandy, Justin, and others for
their explanations of the term "type accepted".
My understanding of type acceptance is that is it achievable only in a
factory-wired or assembly line process. It seems like type acceptance
would simply not be possible--for a variety of reasons--in kit form
products.
Of all their CB products, Heath took the trouble to get type acceptance
on only one radio--the GRS-65A. A factory-wired two-watt walkie-talkie.
Why would Heath have taken the time and expense of getting type
acceptance on a radio that apparently did not require it?
Cheers,
Chuck / WA7ZZE
