I am now working on a Mohican GC-1A. I also noticed voltages were
negative as I was proceeding in the usual manner to get it going again.
Then I saw the note on the chart saying all voltages to chassis are
negative. So I just clipped my positive lead to the chassis as I
muttered, Why did they do that?
Mine is passing IF all the way through but no signal at frequency can
be received. So I suspect the local oscillator, which shows bad
voltages. The transistor for osc seems ok. So I am momentarily stupmed.
Looks like it will be an interesting radio when I get it going. Has
quality features.
