HW-100

Good Morning all,

I just acquired an HW-100, one of the rigs I only dreamed of having
years ago (actually it was an HW-101 I wanted but this is close enough).
It is missing the clear cover/dial indicator in the dial window. Was
this a glued on part? Is there a source to replace it? I think it should
be easy to make a new one. Any ideas of material/adhesive to use?

The rig is in good general shape, but the transmitter has a problem. It
will load fine, I can get dips in plate current and peaks on the
relative power switch setting, but the indicated idle current is way to
high and the output power is also too high. The mic/cw control is
inoperative so I cannot make any adjustment with it. The bias control
works but not enough to bring down the idle current. I will give all the
switches a cleaning, but is there anywhere I should look first (after
cleaning) to solve this problem? I have a manual but the troubleshooting
sections doesn't seem to deal with this particular problem. It should be
easy to fix with with a little direction.

Thank you very much for any help.
