SB-110A/help/ideas

        Am getting SB110A back to life. After much cleaning it looks pretty
good.
On to the electrical, Tubes all checked and proceeded to Receiver
alignment. Het Osc and T2/T3 all done and seem OK.
First few steps went well. Then got to the tuning of the RF coils,
L1,2,3,4.  Following instructions in the manual, I am getting no change
at the VTVM on any of those coils.  Lots of noise at the speaker, with a
spike at the VTVM every so often, but no discernable change as I "roll"
the slugs up or down in the coils..NADA....CAL tone is hrd faintly at
the speaker.
        Open to suggestions..thanks
